Comparison
Ludi or Zoom, Kahoot and Hotmart: many tools or just one?
An all-in-one platform for language tutors swaps five logins for one. But Zoom, Kahoot, Wordwall, Calendly and Hotmart are great at what they do. This comparison shows what each piece costs, using official prices, and what changes for you and your students.

The kit almost every tutor ends up with
Tutors who teach online usually end up, without planning it, with a set like this:
- Video calls: Zoom or Google Meet.
- Games and activities: Kahoot or Wordwall, sent by link.
- Scheduling: Calendly or a spreadsheet.
- Billing: manual transfers, payment links and another spreadsheet to track how many lessons are left.
- Selling materials: Hotmart or a similar platform.
Each piece does its part well. The work of stitching the parts together falls on you, and that is the work an all-in-one platform for language tutors takes off your plate.
What each piece costs
| Tool | Free plan | Entry paid plan |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | Meetings up to 40 minutes | Pro: US$16.99/month billed monthly or US$14.16/month billed annually |
| Google Meet | Personal account: 1:1 up to 24h; 3 or more people, up to 60 minutes | Google account upgrade (not compared here) |
| Kahoot! | Kahoot! Go, with a participant cap and no AI creation | Kahoot!+ Bronze: US$3/month billed annually (US$36/year) or US$9 monthly |
| Wordwall | Basic: up to 3 activities | Standard: R$18/month billed monthly or R$144/year |
| Calendly | 1 event type, no payment collection | Standard: from US$10 per seat/month, with Stripe and PayPal |
| Hotmart | No sign-up fee | 9.9% + R$2.49 per sale, for annual revenue up to R$99,999 |
Prices checked on the official sites on October 15, 2026. They may change, run promotions or vary by region; Zoom, Kahoot and Calendly show prices in US dollars.
Adding up only the entry-level dollar subscriptions on annual billing (Zoom Pro, Calendly Standard and Kahoot!+ Bronze) comes to about US$27 a month, before any sale on Hotmart. You can spend less by staying on free plans, but then the limits kick in: 40 minutes on Zoom, 60 minutes on Meet with three or more people, one event type on Calendly.
The cost that never shows up on the invoice
- Logins: you have a password for every tool, and your student has a link or account for each one.
- Tab switching mid-lesson: game link in the chat, material in another window, video shared through the screen.
- Scattered data: attendance in one tool, game scores in another, payments in your bank statement, times in the calendar. None of them shows the student's whole progress.
- Reconciliation: checking who paid and how many lessons are left in a package turns into a spreadsheet.
- Branding: every tool carries its own brand, and none carries yours.
How an all-in-one platform brings the parts together
Today, people who teach online piece it all together by hand: one tool for the call, another for games, another for selling, another for creating. On Ludi it all lives in one place, and the class with real people stays at the center.
- A live classroom with video and a synced whiteboard, with YouTube videos playing in sync for everyone.
- Interactive worksheets, slides and PDF and image import.
- Six game templates (quiz, matching, wheel, flashcards, unscramble and complete the sentence) plus AI-generated games you review.
- A calendar with recurring lessons and a booking email for the student.
- Lesson packages with automatic billing, and a finance view that shows what came in and what is still owed.
- A storefront to sell e-books and materials, with a 5% Ludi fee. See the marketplace.
- A student app with guided practice, XP and rankings, all in one login under your brand.

| Scheduling | Calendly or a spreadsheet | Calendar with recurrence and email notice to the student |
| Billing | Manual transfers, payment links and a spreadsheet | Packages with automatic billing, in Brazil and abroad |
| Selling materials | Hotmart: 9.9% + R$2.49 per sale | Storefront with a 5% Ludi fee |

When separate tools are the better choice
- You run webinars for hundreds of people: dedicated video tools have plans built for that volume.
- You play Kahoot live with large groups; the higher plans allow hundreds of participants per game.
- Your main business is recorded courses sold at scale: Hotmart specializes in exactly that.
- Your school or company already pays for Google Workspace or Zoom, so the tool is already in the budget.
- You have few students and are happy with your current flow: switching everything may not be worth it right now.
What Ludi costs
- Free: up to 3 active students, 24h of live lessons and 20 AI credits a month.
- Essential, R$99/month: up to 10 active students and 80h of live lessons, with a public profile and storefront.
- Professional, R$189/month: up to 25 active students and 200h of live lessons, with one group of up to 10 students.
- On lesson packages the fee is 3% (or 10% for students who come through your Ludi profile), added on top of the price and paid by the student. Payment provider fees are separate.

Frequently asked questions
Can I teach languages with just free Google Meet?
Yes, for one-on-one lessons: on a personal account, a two-person meeting can last up to 24 hours on a computer. With three or more participants, the limit is 60 minutes. What is left out is everything else: materials, games, scheduling and billing.
Does Ludi replace Zoom for language lessons?
For one-on-one or small-group lessons, yes: Ludi's live classroom has video, a synced whiteboard and the lesson material in one place. For webinars with hundreds of people, a dedicated tool may make more sense.
Can I keep using Kahoot or Wordwall with Ludi?
Yes. Nothing stops you from using an outside game you like. The difference is that games built on Ludi count toward the student's XP and progress, in the same place as the lesson.
How much does Hotmart charge per sale?
According to Hotmart's fee page, checked in October 2026, 9.9% + R$2.49 per sale for sellers with annual revenue up to R$99,999, with no sign-up fee. Higher revenue tiers get a lower percentage or a negotiated rate.
What is Ludi's fee for selling materials?
5% of the price of each sale through your storefront. Payment provider fees are separate.
